okay so update on one of the books I wasmaking previously. This is the text block I had shown last time and I said it was for a temporary binding. Well this is it. It’s a tacketed temporary binding.

Basically the person making the book’s text block would put it in this until they took it to a binder who would put it into an actual binding for permanent use. 

This was also common for students to use since they didn’t have a lot of money to go get their textbook’s covered and they just needed the textblock to be protected while they used it.

basically you just make a coverer around the text block (typically out of velum) we used a heavy weight hand made paper cause velum is expensive. Then using leather bands you tacket it so the cover is secure and the paper wont pop up everywhere.  Then you do a tacket over whatever you used for the sewing. we had used rope cord. 

so yeah that is it

Finished my project for painting as object
Actually my second project cause I finished two tonight but I don’t feel like setting the other one up.

Also the two small ones are blue and purple I know it is hard to tell!

But I really like it! I mean even if it could have gone better I am still pleased with how it came out. It was my first large book and then add on the fact that it was an extended sewn large book. I think I did pretty decently ;3;

I hope the person it is for likes it at least, and uses it ;3; nothing worse then making something and it never getting used!

but yeah its 11x7 in. The front page is handmade paper! It’s very nice to touch hand made paper xD the red is a little darker then what it appears as here ;3;

Im so impatient! I want to give it to the person it is for, but technically it fits a project assignment so I still need it potentially until the 18th D: If I don’t she will be receiving it either the 13th 15th or over new years.

I’ll have to figure it out.

Today one of my fellow RAs had an event called ‘Ugly Doll Making’ which she invited me to!

Needless to say I didn’t make an ugly doll I decided to make a jellyfish in honor of how excellent Kuragehime was!

He needs more tentacle thingies but he will get them later. xD

Okay yeah so I am making a new trident! Many of you may now my Trident Tutorial

That I made a while ago. Well eventually it broke (after a lot of use!) and I kind of just shoved it in a corner and tossed it around (which only made it break more) oh well so i need a new trident obviously. Especially since I am doing Condesce which means I need a bigger and more elaborate one. So I decided to make it as one of my assignments in my innovations in stone and wood. Which there for means this process I am going to show you will be extremely useless to most people as I highly doubt many of you are sitting on a full equipped wood shop!

But I am making a step by step process anyways! just fo all your enjoyment. Here is part 1 (meaning I finished a singular point.)

Books I made today!!!! I made a third one but we had to leave it in the book press over night so Ill post that one tomorrow!!!

Book1: it is just an Accordion with a simple folded cover :] really easy to make!!!!

Book2: Is another accordion but in a little flap portfolio with a pocket in the back. The accordion can still extend to it’s full length too! this one requires double sided tape though.

okay so the hat is mostly done! I need to make the pom pom but I let the yarn I wanted to make the pom pom out of at my moms house! DARN

Also do you think the Pompom should sit directly on top of the hat or be dangling on a string?
